Importing data from CSV (Comma Separated Values) files
CSV Import
CSV files are a universal format supported by almost every database and spreadsheet application. They are lightweight and ideal for transferring data to SheetsToLabels.
What is a CSV?
A CSV (Comma Separated Values) file is a plain text file where data is separated by commas.

- Encoding: Save your file with UTF-8 Encoding. This is critical for displaying special characters, accents, or emojis correctly.
- Headers: Ensure the first line contains your column names.
- Delimiters: We strictly support comma (
,) delimiters. If your region uses semicolons (;) by default (common in Europe), please check your export settings or convert the file.

How to Import
- Navigate to the Data Source tab in the Label Designer.
- Click Upload.
- Select your
.csvfile.
Why Use CSV?
- Compatibility: Works with data exported from Shopify, QuickBooks, Salesforce, and custom databases.
- Speed: CSV files upload faster than complex Excel workbooks.
- Simplicity: Removes formatting issues (fonts, colors, hidden columns) that might confuse importers.
Handling Special Characters
If you see weird symbols (like ) instead of your text:
- Your file is likely not UTF-8.
- Fix: Open the CSV in Notepad (Windows) or TextEdit (Mac), select "Save As", and choose "UTF-8" from the encoding dropdown.
