Canvas Operations
The canvas is your workspace for designing labels. Learn how to navigate, zoom, and work efficiently with the canvas.
Canvas Basics
The white rectangular area represents a single label. Its dimensions are set in Page Settings.
Navigation
Zoom Controls
- Zoom In/Out: Use the
+and-buttons in the toolbar - Mouse Wheel: Scroll to zoom in and out
- Fit to Screen: Click the fit icon to see the entire label
- Keyboard:
Ctrl/Cmd + Plusto zoom in,Ctrl/Cmd + Minusto zoom out
Pan
- Click and drag the canvas background to move around
- Use the scroll bars for precise positioning
Grid and Guides
Grid
- Enable Grid: Click the grid icon in the toolbar
- Grid Spacing: Adjustable in settings (default: 10px)
- Snap to Grid: Elements automatically align to grid points
Guides
- Add Guide: Drag from the rulers on the edges
- Remove Guide: Drag the guide off the canvas
- Snap to Guides: Elements snap to guides when nearby
Canvas Settings
Access via the Settings icon (gear):
- Label Size: Width and height in inches or mm
- Background Color: Set a background (won't print)
- Bleed: Add bleed area for professional printing
Tips
- Use Grid for precise alignment
- Zoom in to 200% for detailed work
- Use Guides for consistent margins
- Press Space to temporarily switch to pan mode
