How to Print Bulk Barcode Labels from Excel or Google Sheets

Generate hundreds of barcode labels in one PDF from your inventory spreadsheet. Supports Code 128, Code 39, EAN-13, and UPC-A. Print on Avery 5167 or any small label sheet.

Sometimes you just need a sticker with a scannable code on it. Label Designer can generate a full sheet of barcode or QR labels from a spreadsheet column.

1. Prepare Data

Start with one column:

code
1001
1002
1003

You can add optional columns such as item_name, location, lot, or qr_url if the label needs human-readable text too.

2. Layout

  • Use small, high-density labels (e.g., 80 per page).
  • Avery 5167 (Return Address size) works well for small barcodes.

3. Design

  1. Add Barcode: Add a barcode element and bind it to the code column.
  2. Choose Format: Use Code 128 for general internal codes, Code 39 for simple alphanumeric codes, or EAN/UPC only when your data is valid for that retail format.
  3. Human-readable text: If the label is tiny, turn "Show Text" off in barcode properties and add a separate text box such as {{code}} with a bold font.
  4. Optional QR: For URLs or longer text, add a QR element and bind it to qr_url.

4. Verify

  • Scan the First, Middle, and Last label of a printed sheet to ensure the print quality remained consistent and scannable across the page.
