This guide will walk you through the process of creating and printing your first set of labels.
Step 1: Prepare Your Data
Before you start, ensure your data is organized in a spreadsheet.
- The first row should contain Connect Headers (e.g., Name, Address, City).
- Each subsequent row should represent one label.
Supported formats:
- Excel (.xlsx, .xls)
- CSV (.csv)
- Google Sheets (via direct connection)
Step 2: Upload Data
- Start in Address Label Maker for mailing labels, Excel to Labels for workbook-first imports, or Label Designer for broader custom layouts.
- Click Edit Data in the editor toolbar.
- Import from Excel, CSV, or Google Sheets.
- Once uploaded, you will see your columns listed as available fields.
Step 3: Choose a Template
You can start from scratch or choose a preset.
- Standard Address: 30 labels per sheet (Avery 5160 compatible).
- Shipping 4x6: Standard thermal printer size.
- A4 General: 21 labels per sheet.
To change dimensions, open Print Settings and enter your custom width, height, gaps, and margins.
Step 4: Design Your Label
- Text: In Design Tag mode, add a Text element from the Design tab. Click to edit.
- Merge Fields: To display dynamic data, connect the element to a column or type column names in brackets, such as
{{Name}}. - Images: Upload your logo or add a dynamic image field.
- Barcodes/QR: Add a barcode or QR code element and bind it to a data column such as URL or SKU.
Step 5: Preview and Print
- Click Print Layout to see how the full sheet looks with real data.
- Click Export PDF.
- Open the PDF and print!
[!IMPORTANT] When printing, make sure your printer scaling is set to "Actual Size" or "100%" to ensure alignment with pre-cut label paper. Do not select "Fit to Page". See Print Settings.
