Welcome to SheetsToLabels. sheetstolabels.com is our primary website and product platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information across the following products and services:
- Our main website:
sheetstolabels.com
- Our web tools:
Label Maker, Avery Label Maker, PDF Mail Merge, and Place Card Maker
- Our macOS apps for
Label Maker, PDF Mail Merge, and Place Card Maker
- Our Chrome browser extensions for
Label Maker, PDF Mail Merge, Place Card Maker, Address Label Maker, Avery Label Maker, and Barcode Label Maker
- Our Google Workspace Add-ons for
PDF Mail Merge, Address Label Maker, and Avery Label Maker
At SheetsToLabels, we aim to keep document generation as private as possible. In many cases, spreadsheet parsing, label rendering, place card generation, and PDF filling happen locally in your browser or on your device rather than on our servers.
We collect only the information reasonably necessary to operate our website, provide product functionality, process payments, respond to support requests, comply with applicable legal obligations, and improve our services.
When you use sheetstolabels.com or our web tools (Label Maker, Avery Label Maker, PDF Mail Merge, and Place Card Maker), we may collect:
- Account Information: Name, email address, login credentials, and profile details if you create an account or sign in
- Usage and Analytics Data: Basic information about how pages and features are used so we can improve the product
- Device and Browser Information: Browser type, operating system, IP-based diagnostics, language, and similar technical data
- Cookies and Session Data: Information used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and maintain site functionality
- Support Communications: Information you send to us when you contact support
For core generation workflows, spreadsheet data, label content, place card content, PDF templates, field mappings, and generated exports are intended to be processed locally in your browser whenever possible. We do not upload your document content to our servers for server-side generation unless a feature explicitly requires such interaction and you choose to use that feature.
Business API and Cloud-Synced Templates
Our Business API is a server-side generation feature and therefore has a narrower cloud-storage exception to our local-first model:
- When you are signed in and save a custom template in the Label Designer, we store a copy of that template's layout and content on our servers so it can be used by API keys belonging to the same account.
- Spreadsheet rows, generated PDF files, and the PDF history stored in your browser are not uploaded as part of this template synchronization.
- Data that you deliberately send in a Business API request is transmitted to our servers so we can generate and return the requested PDF.
- Values entered in the public API Playground are also transmitted to our servers to generate the watermarked demo PDF. The Playground uses a fixed template and does not access your saved templates. We may retain request metadata such as status, duration, and request ID for security and troubleshooting, but the submitted demo field values are not written to API usage records.
- Clearing browser storage removes local copies and local PDF history, but does not delete a cloud-synced template. You can view and delete cloud templates from API Key Settings. Deleting a cloud template prevents it from being used in future API requests but does not remove a separate copy stored in your browser.
Account Data Retention and Deletion
- Retention: We retain account information for as long as your account remains active and as needed to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.
- Deletion Request: You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting [email protected].
- Deletion Handling: After verifying the request, we will delete or anonymize the relevant account data from our active systems within a reasonable period, typically within 30 days, except where retention is required or permitted for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, or payment recordkeeping purposes.
Our macOS apps for Label Maker, PDF Mail Merge, and Place Card Maker are designed for privacy-first local processing.
- Local File Processing: Files you choose to open, including spreadsheets, templates, label designs, PDF files, and generated exports, are processed locally on your Mac
- No Cloud Uploads for Document Content: We do not upload your working spreadsheet rows, label layouts, PDF templates, field mappings, or generated output files to SheetsToLabels servers as part of the normal app workflow
- No Account Required for Core Local Use: Core desktop functionality does not require you to create an account
- Optional Remote Imports: Some features may fetch data from user-provided URLs or public Google Sheets links that you choose to import
- Feedback and Support Requests: If you submit feedback or contact us from within a macOS app, we may receive the message you provide, your email address, and limited app context such as app page URL, user agent, selected template identifier, and timestamp so we can respond and improve the product
- Limited Network Use: Some optional features may use network access, such as opening website links, loading user-provided remote resources, sending optional feedback, or checking purchase entitlements
- Purchases and Entitlements: In-app purchases, subscription restoration, and entitlement validation are handled through Apple's App Store and StoreKit
- Local App Data: Preferences, recent files, caches, subscription status caches, and workspace data may be stored locally on your device
When you use optional remote import features, the third-party service hosting the file or spreadsheet may receive standard request information such as your IP address and request metadata as part of delivering that resource to your device.
We do not receive your Apple ID credentials or full payment card details from Apple.
Deleting Local Mac App Data
- Files created, imported, or exported by the macOS apps generally remain on your device until you delete them
- App preferences, local caches, recent files, and workspace data can usually be removed by deleting the app's local data on your Mac or uninstalling the app
- Because this data is stored locally, we typically cannot delete it for you remotely
This section applies to all Chrome extensions published by SheetsToLabels, including the following Chrome Web Store products:
- Fill PDF from Google Sheets, Excel & CSV (also referred to as PDF Mail Merge)
- Label Maker for Google Sheets | Sheets To Labels
- Place Card Maker: Create Cards from Excel and Sheets
- Address Label Maker - XLSX, CSV & Sheets
- Avery Label Maker - Google Sheets, CSV & Excel
- Barcode Label Maker - Excel, CSV & Sheets
When you use a SheetsToLabels Chrome extension:
- It accesses only the spreadsheet, CSV, Excel, PDF, label, barcode, place card, address, template, or settings data that you intentionally select, enter, or authorize for the requested workflow.
- Core document generation is designed to run locally in the extension and your browser. Unless a feature clearly tells you otherwise before you use it, document contents and generated files are not uploaded to SheetsToLabels for server-side generation.
- Extension preferences, workflow state, and locally generated export history may be stored in browser-managed storage. This local data remains in your browser until you clear it or uninstall the extension.
- An extension may connect to
https://sheetstolabels.com/* to open product pages, load required resources, check sign-in or entitlement status, and record or confirm an export transaction.
- We do not sell extension user data or use spreadsheet, document, label, barcode, address, or place card contents for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or other unrelated purposes.
The following additional details apply specifically to the Chrome Web Store product named Fill PDF from Google Sheets, Excel & CSV.
Purpose and data accessed
The extension lets you select a PDF form and spreadsheet data from Google Sheets, Excel, or CSV, map spreadsheet columns to PDF fields, and create filled PDF files. It accesses only the files, spreadsheet data, field mappings, and settings that you intentionally select or enter for this purpose.
The extension does not request permission to read your browsing history or the contents of unrelated websites. It does not collect passwords, payment card numbers, health information, or precise location data from your browser.
Local document processing
- Selected PDF files, spreadsheet rows, field values, mappings, and generated PDF or ZIP files are processed locally in the extension and your browser.
- The extension does not upload the contents of selected PDFs, spreadsheets, CSV files, field values, or generated documents to SheetsToLabels servers for PDF generation.
- Generated files are downloaded to your device. If you use export history, a local copy and related file details may be stored in browser-managed storage such as IndexedDB.
- If you choose to import a file from a URL or public Google Sheets link, your browser contacts the service hosting that resource. That third-party host may receive standard request information such as your IP address and request metadata.
Information transmitted to SheetsToLabels
The extension has host access limited to https://sheetstolabels.com/* so it can communicate with the SheetsToLabels service. Depending on the feature you use, the following limited information may be transmitted:
- Authentication and session information needed to determine whether you are signed in
- Account identity returned for a signed-in session, such as user ID, name, and email address
- Credit balance and purchase or entitlement status needed to provide paid exports
- Export transaction metadata such as task type, template identifier, page count, item count, output options, a one-way content hash used to identify duplicate jobs, request status, and timestamps
- Technical request information normally received by a website, such as IP address, browser or extension version, and security logs
Export transaction metadata does not include the raw PDF file, spreadsheet rows, CSV contents, mapped field values, or generated PDF or ZIP file.
Chrome permissions
storage: Used for extension preferences, workflow state, and locally stored export history. This data remains in browser-managed storage unless you clear it or uninstall the extension.
https://sheetstolabels.com/*: Used only to open SheetsToLabels pages, load required product resources, check sign-in status and credits, and record or confirm an export transaction. It is not used to monitor unrelated browsing activity.
Use, sharing, retention, and deletion
- We use extension-related user data only to provide and improve the user-requested PDF filling, account, support, security, and payment functionality.
- We do not sell extension user data, use it for personalized advertising, or use spreadsheet or document contents for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or other unrelated purposes.
- We do not allow humans to read PDF or spreadsheet contents through this extension because those contents are not transmitted to our servers. Support staff may review information that you voluntarily include in a support request.
- Limited account and export transaction metadata may be processed by service providers that support hosting, authentication, security, analytics, or payment operations. They may use it only to provide those services to us, subject to appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
- Locally stored extension data remains in your browser until you clear the extension's data, delete the relevant browser data, or uninstall the extension.
- Server-side account and transaction records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to operate accounts and credits, prevent fraud, provide support, and meet legal, tax, accounting, and security obligations.
- You may request deletion of server-side personal data by emailing [email protected]. We normally complete verified requests within 30 days, except for records that must or may be retained for legal, payment, fraud-prevention, security, or compliance purposes.
This privacy policy explicitly retains coverage for the other SheetsToLabels Chrome extensions listed above:
- Label Maker for Google Sheets | Sheets To Labels creates printable labels from spreadsheet, CSV, Excel, or manually entered data.
- Place Card Maker: Create Cards from Excel and Sheets creates printable place cards from spreadsheet, CSV, Excel, or manually entered guest data.
- Address Label Maker - XLSX, CSV & Sheets creates printable address and mailing labels from data that you select or enter.
- Avery Label Maker - Google Sheets, CSV & Excel creates Avery-compatible label sheets from data that you select or enter.
- Barcode Label Maker - Excel, CSV & Sheets creates barcode labels from spreadsheet, CSV, Excel, or manually entered product data.
The shared local processing, storage, server communication, use, sharing, retention, and deletion practices described in this Chrome Browser Extensions section apply to these products where relevant.
If an extension connects you to sheetstolabels.com, the website, account, payment, and security practices described elsewhere in this policy also apply.
We provide Google Workspace Add-ons for PDF Mail Merge, Address Label Maker, and Avery Label Maker. These Add-ons may access Google Sheets data that you authorize in order to:
- Read sheet headers and row data from the current spreadsheet
- Launch the requested document or label generation workflow
- Help you map spreadsheet values into templates, labels, or print-ready outputs
Google User Data
- We use Google user data only to provide the functionality requested by the user
- We do not sell Google user data
- We do not use Google user data for advertising
- We do not retain spreadsheet content on our servers longer than necessary to complete the user-requested workflow, and in many cases processing remains local to the browser session or browser storage controlled by the user
Product-specific workflows
PDF Mail Merge: The Add-on can read the current spreadsheet so users can map row data into PDF fields and generate merged documents.
Address Label Maker: The Add-on can read the current spreadsheet so users can turn address rows into print-ready labels for layouts such as A4, US Letter, Avery 5160, and similar label sheets.
Avery Label Maker: The Add-on can read the current spreadsheet so users can create Avery-compatible label sheets, preview the layout, and export a print-ready PDF from the web editor.
Temporary browser transfer
- For some Google Workspace Add-on workflows, we may transfer authorized spreadsheet data directly into the browser's temporary storage, such as
sessionStorage or localStorage, so the requested editor can open with the user's data already loaded.
- This temporary browser-side storage is used only to initialize the workflow requested by the user and is not intended as server-side retention.
Retention and Deletion
- If spreadsheet content is not stored on our servers, there may be nothing for us to delete after the session ends
- If limited Google-related data is temporarily processed or cached on our systems to complete the requested workflow, we delete it after the workflow is completed or within a short operational retention period, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted for security, abuse prevention, or legal compliance
- You can revoke the Add-on's access at any time through Google Account Permissions
Our use of information received from Google APIs will comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements where applicable.
Payments may be processed through third-party providers such as Stripe, PayPal, or Apple, depending on the product surface you use.
- We do not store your full credit card number or complete payment credentials on our servers
- Payment processors handle billing information under their own privacy and security policies
- We may receive limited transaction records, subscription status, billing confirmations, and identifiers needed to activate paid features, prevent fraud, and support customer service
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the personal information we collect, such as account records, support communications, and payment confirmations.
For many product workflows, the strongest privacy protection is our local-first design: your spreadsheet content, label layouts, place card content, PDF templates, and generated outputs are intended to stay in your browser or on your device rather than being stored on our servers. Cloud-synced custom templates and data deliberately submitted to the Business API are handled as described above.
However, no method of transmission over the Internet and no method of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information only in the following circumstances:
- With service providers who help us operate our website, authentication, hosting, analytics, customer support, or payment systems
- To comply with legal obligations, lawful requests, court orders, or regulatory requirements
- To protect our rights, property, safety, systems, users, or the public
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards
Because our products are designed to process many document workflows locally, we typically do not possess the actual spreadsheet content or generated files from those workflows on our servers.
We retain data for different periods depending on the data type and the service involved:
- Account Data: Retained while your account is active and as needed for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, and operational purposes
- Support Requests: Retained as needed to resolve issues and maintain support history
- Optional In-App Feedback: Retained as needed to review product issues, reply to the sender, and maintain support history
- Website Logs and Analytics: Retained for a limited period for security, troubleshooting, and product improvement
- Local App Data: Remains on your device until you remove it
- Generated Documents and User Files: Typically remain in your browser, extension context, or local device storage unless you choose to store or export them elsewhere
- Cloud-Synced Business API Templates: Retained while available in your account and removed from active template storage when you delete them in API Key Settings, subject to limited backup, security, legal, and operational retention requirements
Depending on the product surface, data deletion works differently:
- Website Accounts: You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing [email protected]. After verification, we will remove or anonymize the relevant data from active systems within a reasonable period, typically within 30 days, except for information we must retain or are permitted to retain for legal, payment, tax, fraud-prevention, security, or compliance purposes.
- Optional In-App Feedback and Support Messages: If you sent us feedback or a support request through one of our apps or website forms, you may request deletion of the related personal information by contacting [email protected], subject to any legal or operational retention obligations.
- Web Tool Session Data: Much of the working data used in
Label Maker, PDF Mail Merge, and Place Card Maker is processed locally in your browser. Closing the session, clearing browser storage, or removing exported files may remove that local data from your side.
- Cloud-Synced Business API Templates: Delete these from API Key Settings. Clearing browser storage does not delete cloud copies, and deleting a cloud copy does not remove a separate template stored in your browser.
- macOS Apps: Files, caches, and app data created by the desktop apps remain on your Mac unless you delete them. Because this data is stored locally, we generally do not have server-side copies to delete.
- Google Browser Extensions: Any local extension state stored in your browser can typically be removed by clearing the extension's local data, removing the extension, or clearing relevant browser storage.
- Google Workspace Add-ons: If an Add-on does not persist spreadsheet content on our servers, there may be no server-side content to delete. You may also revoke Google access at any time through your Google account permissions settings.
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date if appropriate. Your continued use of our website, apps, browser extensions, or add-ons after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
